About Me
Hi, I’m Nikolai Ewert, an 18-year-old from Ojai, California, with a deep passion for the performing arts. My journey in acting and music has taught me the power of storytelling and the ability of art to connect people on an emotional level. I believe in diving into complex characters and finding the human experience in every role. For me, acting is more than a craft; it's a way to communicate universal truths and emotions that resonate with audiences.
Education and Training
I’m currently a senior at Besant Hill School of Happy Valley, where I maintain a 3.8 GPA. My education has been enriched by intensive artistic training, including a five-week summer program at the Berklee School of Music, where I honed my performance skills and explored my voice as an artist. In addition, I participated in the Soundwall program at UCSC and recently completed UCLA’s Mock Trial Program, which helped me develop public speaking skills and stage presence.
Experience and Performance Interests
I bring a broad range of experiences to my acting journey, from working in customer-facing roles to volunteering in my community. My experience as a counselor on a youth crisis hotline has taught me the importance of empathy and connection—qualities that I bring into my acting. I am passionate about roles that challenge me emotionally and require vulnerability, and I am drawn to dramatic arts programs that encourage students to explore new depths in their performance.
Personal Interests
Beyond acting, I enjoy singing, playing music, and staying active through sports like boxing and basketball. These experiences shape me as an individual and inspire my approach to performing. I’m excited to continue my artistic journey in college, surrounded by peers and mentors who are as passionate about the craft as I am.
I am drawn towards the oral style of expression and learning. I would much rather stand up in front of the class and share about a subject than take a test.
Singing is a big part of my life. I have been training since I was little. It is a tool I use to express myself.
During Covid I felt isolated and so did my friends. I started volunteering for a teen crisis hotline and it really helped.
